A Period Section: 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM
B Period Section: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
C Period Section: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

The students will learn to prepare food and explore cultural meaning and memory intrinsically attached to food in this course. We will implement a cultural piece where we cover ingredients and cooking styles from different continents. We will begin with knife skills, prep, plating, baking and dough, roasting and searing, the other basics of gourmet cooking, and the history and culture of various foods. By the end of this course, students will have gained essential and valuable cooking skills and come to understand more of the world through different cooking practices. Students will have fun learning the spiritual and communal nature of food preparation and realize that sharing food and cooking for loved ones is a beautiful way to show hospitality.
