Priory is one of the Bay Area independent schools that uses the web-based application system, Ravenna, for our admissions process.  By creating a Ravenna account, you'll be able to sign up for Summer Tours, Open Houses, and Campus Visitor Days, and begin your application.  To create your account, click on the blue button to the right that says "Create a Ravenna Account."

If you're interested in applying as a boarding student, please learn more about our boarding program at http://www.prioryca.org/Page/Boarding.

Below are application instructions for non-international students. If you are an international student, please visit our International Applicants page as the application process is different.

Application Process (non-international students)

List of 5 items.

  • Step 1: Create your Ravenna Account

Priory uses Ravenna as our online admissions software.  To apply or to sign up for an Open House or Campus Visitor Day, you'll need to create an account.  Click on the blue button in the upper right that says "Create a Ravenna Account." The application will go live on September 1st.
  • Step 2: Schedule a Visit to the Priory (optional but encouraged)

Visits to the Priory are encouraged during the application process.

Open House: There are two Open Houses scheduled for the Fall of 2017 - October 21 and November 18th.  Middle School Open Houses run from 10:00-1:00, and the Upper School Open Houses run from 2:00-5:00.  You may register through your Ravenna account.

Campus Visitor Days: Our Campus Visitors Program gives students the opportunity to spend the day at Priory with a Student Ambassador so that you have a better idea of what a typical school day is like. Campus Visitor Days are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning on September 18th, 2017 and ending on January 12th, 2018. Your day begins at 9:30 am in the Performing Arts Center with a short orientation. Campus Visitors will visit three classes as well as break and lunch before finishing the day at 2:00.  You may register through your Ravenna account once you've completed the application form and submitted the application fee.
  • Step 3: Admissions Tests

The Priory accepts the ISEE, SSAT, or HSPT.  The test may be taken at any of the locations offered by those testing companies. Official test scores need to be submitted to Woodside Priory School directly from the testing agency. All students must complete the admission test during the current academic year and no later than January 31, 2018.

Registration for the Admission Test is required and can be made online directly through the testing agency.  Early registration is recommended as test sites fill quickly.  If the cost of testing presents a hardship for your family, you may contact our Admissions Office at (650) 851-8223 to request a waiver code.
    • ISEE Registration: Registration for the ISEE can be made online at www.iseetest.org.  The Priory ISEE code is 052527. Priory will host the ISEE twice - dates to be announced.
    • SSAT Registration: Registration for SSAT can be made online at www.ssat.org. The Priory SSAT code is 8296.
    • HSPT Registration: Registration for the HSPT is made directly with another Catholic High School the student is applying to. On the day of the test, students may add our school code, 24, to have scores reported to us. The HSPT is applicable to students applying to the Upper School only.
  • Step 4: Complete your Application in Ravenna

Once you've created your Ravenna account and signed up for an Admissions Test, you're ready to start your application.  The application includes the following steps, all of which will be done through Ravenna.  The deadline to have all of this complete is January 11, 2018.

    1. Complete the Application Form (biographical information)
    2. Submit your Application Fee ($100)
    3. Parents complete the Parent Supplement (short essay questions)
    4. Students complete the Student Supplement (essay questions)
    5. Send out requests for Teacher Evaluations
    6. Send Transcript Release forms to your current school

If you are applying for Financial Aid, the first deadline is also January 11, 2018.  Please visit our Tuition and Financial Aid page for more information.
  • Step 5: Applicant Interviews

The final step of the application process is an interview.  All applicants will do a 45 minute group activity and interview with a Priory faculty member.

Interviews for day student applicants and boarding applicants who live in the Bay Area will happen on the following days:

    • Middle School (6-8): February 7 and 8, 2018 4PM-7PM
    • Upper School Day Applicants (9-12): February 12 and 13, 2018 4PM-7PM

Applicants will be able to sign up for interview time slots online starting in late January (you will be notified through Ravenna).

For boarding applicants who live outside the Bay Area, interviews will be conducted in February by Skype or FaceTime. Note that for international applicants, only some applicants will be selected for interviews.
