Woodside Priory is currently at full enrollment for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year, and we are not able to accept any new applications at this time. Applications for the 2020-2021 school year will open on September 1, 2019.

Woodside Priory School joins other San Francisco Bay Area independent schools to streamline their admission processes through Ravenna. Through Ravenna, prospective families sign up our Summer Tours, Open Houses, and Campus Visitor Days. It also allows families to start the admission application at their convenience. Create your Ravenna account by clicking on the blue button to the right that says "Create a Ravenna Account."

If you are interested in applying as a boarding student, we invite you to read more about our boarding program by visiting the boarding section of our website.

The following application instructions are for non-international students only. If you are an international student applicant, please remember that you have your own admission process; visit our International Applicants page to begin your application.

Application Process (non-international students)

List of 5 items.

  • Step 1: Create your Ravenna Account

Woodside Priory uses an application platform maintained by Ravenna and families are strongly encouraged to set-up and update their Ravenna profiles in early August. In order to apply or sign up for an Open House or Campus Visitor Day, prospective families must have an active account.  Click on the blue button in the upper right that says "Create a Ravenna Account." The application for the 2020-2021 school year will go live on September 4, 2019.
  • Step 2: Schedule an Optional Visit to the Priory

Visits to the Priory are encouraged during the application process.

Open House: There are two Open Houses scheduled every fall, two programs for both our Middle and Upper School. See our Visit the Priory page for more details.

Campus Visitor Days: Our Campus Visitors Program gives students the opportunity to spend the day at the Priory with a Student Ambassador.  Visiting students will experience a typical school day during their visit. See our Visit the Priory page for more details.
  • Step 3: Submit Admissions Test Results

Woodside Priory accepts the ISEE, SSAT, or HSPT. These tests may be taken at any of the locations offered by those testing companies and do not have to be taken at the Priory. However, official test scores must be submitted to Woodside Priory School directly from the testing agency. All students must complete the admission test during the current academic year and no later than January 25, 2020.

Students interested in applying must take ISEE, SSAT, or HSPT and are required to submit their results directly through the appropriate testing agency. We strongly recommend registering for any admission tests early as test sites fill quickly. If the cost of testing presents a hardship for your family, you may contact our Admissions Office at (650) 851-8223 to request a waiver code (for ISEE or SSAT only).

ISEE Registration: Registration for the ISEE can be made online directly with the ISEE. Woodside Priory’s ISEE code is 052527. Priory will host the ISEE twice - dates to be announced.

SSAT Registration: Registration for SSAT can be made online directly with the SSAT. Woodside Priory’s SSAT code is 8296.

HSPT Registration: Registration for the HSPT is made directly with Catholic high schools. However, as the Priory does not host the HSPT, students should register at another Catholic high school where the student intends to apply for admission. On the day of the HSPT test, students may add our school code (24) to have scores reported to us. Please note that the HSPT is only applicable to students applying to the Upper School.

  • Step 4: Complete your Admission Application in Ravenna

Once you have created your Ravenna account and signed up for an Admissions Test, you are ready to begin the admission application.  All application steps are completed through Ravenna, including:
    1. Complete the Application Form (biographical information)
    2. Submit your Application Fee ($100 for non-international applicants)
    3. Complete the Parent Supplement (short essay questions completed by parents/guardians)
    4. Complete the Student Supplement (essay questions completed by student applicant)
    5. Email requests for Teacher Recommendations (through Ravenna)
    6. Send Transcript Release forms to your current school
The priority deadline for the 2020-21 school year is January 9, 2020.

If you intend to apply for financial aid, the priority deadline is also January 9, 2020.  Please visit the Tuition and Financial Aid page for more information and guidance.
  • Step 5: Sign-Up for an Interview

The final step of the application process is an interview. At the Priory, our interviews are conducted through a forty-five-minute group activity and are facilitated by a member of the Priory faculty. An interview is required for all applicants.

Interviews for day-student applicants and boarding applicants who live in the Bay Area will be held on:
    • Upper School Day Applicants (9-12): February 2020 TBD
    • Middle School (6-8): February 2020 TBD
Applicants will be notified to sign up for an interview time slot through Ravenna after the application deadline, typically in late January.

Non-international applicants for our boarding program who live outside the San Francisco Bay Area will be offered a Skype-interview in February. International applicants should take note of their process by visiting the international student section of the website.
