*Woodside Priory School is at full enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year, and we are unable to accept any new applications at this time. Applications for the 2021-2022 school year will be available in early September.

Summer presents an excellent opportunity to explore and research schools. Finding the right fit for middle or high school requires thoughtfulness. It is often under nonchalant and unstructured conversations that we learn about where we can thrive both as a student and as an individual.

In our current environment of social distancing and restricted travel, some families may find new opportunities to plan for what could be an unpredictable and disruptive fall season. The Admissions Office is working through the summer to develop an admissions process that can adapt to the changing conditions and also ensure that we understand how your child can thrive in our academically rigorous and supportive environment.

To get a head start, we invite you to create a Ravenna* account and complete your necessary biographical information. Once our application goes live in early September, you will be one of the first to know about the admission process to the 2021-2022 school year. Create your Ravenna account by clicking on the blue button to the right that says, "Create a Ravenna Account."

If you are interested in applying to our residential (boarding) program, we invite you to read about the application requirements for our residential program. Do not forget to learn more about our residential program by visiting the boarding section of our website.

Application Process for Day Students

List of 5 items.

  • Step 1: Create your Ravenna Account

Woodside Priory uses an application platform maintained by Ravenna and families are strongly encouraged to set-up and update their Ravenna profiles in early August. In order to apply or sign up for any admission event, prospective families must have an active account. Click on the blue button in the upper right that says "Create a Ravenna Account." The admissions season begins with the opening of our application for the next school year in early September.
  • Step 2: Schedule an Optional Visit to the Priory

    * We will provide additional information about our opportunities to get to know us in early September. Please check back after September 1 for more information.

Please remember that while we encourage you to attend some of our events, attendance at these events is optional.
  • Step 3: Submit Admissions Test Results

For students applying to the day program for the 2021-2022 school year, Woodside Priory will not require entrance exam testing (i.e., ISEE, SSAT, or HSPT). Applicants applying to the boarding program should visit the boarding admissions section of our site for additional information regarding entrance exam information.

If you would like to submit ISEE, SSAT or HSPT results, please consult the following information provided:

    • For middle school, most applicants will take the ISEE.
    • For upper school day applicants, we accept the ISEE, SSAT, or HSPT.
    • Students applying to our boarding program will typically take the SSAT.

Exams may be taken at any of the locations offered by those testing companies and do not have to be administered at the Priory. However, official test scores must be submitted to Woodside Priory School directly from the testing agency. All students must complete the admission test during the current academic year and no later than January 22.
ISEE Registration: Registration for the ISEE can be made online directly with the ISEE. Woodside Priory’s ISEE code is 052527
SSAT Registration: Registration for SSAT can be made online directly with the SSAT. Woodside Priory’s SSAT code is 8296.
HSPT Registration: Registration for the HSPT is made directly with Catholic high schools. However, as the Priory does not host the HSPT, students should register at another Catholic high school where the student intends to apply for admission. On the day of the HSPT test, students may add our school code (24) to have scores reported to us. Please note that the HSPT is only applicable to students applying to the Upper School.
  • Step 4: Complete your Admission Application in Ravenna

Once you have created your Ravenna account and signed up for an Admissions Test, you are ready to begin the admission application.  All application steps are completed through Ravenna, including:
    1. Complete the Application Form (biographical information)
    2. Submit your Application Fee ($100 for non-international applicants)
    3. Complete the Parent Supplement (short essay questions completed by parents/guardians)
    4. Complete the Student Supplement (essay questions completed by student applicant)
    5. Email requests for Teacher Recommendations (through Ravenna)
    6. Send Transcript Release forms to your current school
The priority deadline for the 2021-2022 school year is January 7, 2021.

If you intend to apply for financial aid, the priority deadline is also January 7, 2021.  Please visit the Tuition and Financial Aid page for more information and guidance.
  • Step 5: Sign-Up for an Interview

The final step of the application process is an interview. At the Priory, our interviews are conducted through a 45-minute group activity and are facilitated by a member of the Priory faculty. An interview is required for all applicants.

Applicants will be notified to sign up for an interview time slot through Ravenna after the application deadline, typically in late January.

Non-international applicants for our boarding program who live outside the San Francisco Bay Area will be offered an online interview.
