Bravo All! You have a SERIOUS SHOW!

Tell everyone you know to come see it becasue you’ve worked too hard, too well for people not to experience it.
Remember also we’re having a Ticket Selling Contest. Whoever (Actor, Crew, Orchestra) can get the most people to come and write their name on the most tickets wins.

Lovely 2nd Dress Rehearsal.

Actors great inhabiting the characters and experiencing what was happening for the first time.
Orchestra tremendous playing, you have all come together really nicely in the Pit.
Crew, way to run the scene changes. In fact a few are so fast I need you to slow them down so costumes can be changed.

PLEASE NOTE:
–Tomorrow’s CALLTIME is 3:00 again (for the last time) for ALL ACTORS and CREW. Orchestra, your call is 5:00.
–We’ll make sandwiches in the cafeteria at 3:05.
–Then we’re in the Theater to work scenes, set Curtain Call, etc.
–We’ll eat dinner and then get ready for OPENING NIGHT!
–Dinner will be at approximately 4:45.

TECHNICAL NOTE: Actors and Running Crew: Please don’t play with the lighting stack (lighting controls) that are off stage-left. It can crash the system or leave lights up when they shouldn’t be. It’s got more flashing lights than Darth Vader’s bathroom, I know, but resist the magpie-like urge to play with the shiny thing.

If you’re reading this and it’s still Wednesday, get to sleep, are you insane!

Hello Parents,

The actors and orchestra did Incredible work last night and the show is coming together like gangbusters.

My apologies we ran overtime, I had insisted we wrap-up but they were insistent we finish (and highly motivated) and attempted to call to check that extending was OK. That won’t happen this evening.

LAST PROPS:
We are in DESPERATE need of 3 things:

—A large in geneeral (or ideally long but not too wide) “Old School” Bankers Desk. The kind that, when you look at it screams “I’m a powerful guy with cash, look at me and bow down.” It would need to be heavy enough for a girl to stand on it and dance momentarily.
——-If you have one we could borrow or you’d like to donate PLEASE email me a picture at : jsugden@prioryca.org. If it won’t fit in your car we’ll make arrangements to get it.
——-If anyone is free today and could go to their local Goodwill or Salvation army and snap a picture of any likely candidates I’d greatly appreciate it.

—A human looking Baby doll that we could wrap in a blanket as a Character’s baby.

—A briefcase that we can open and have full of fake cash. Metal sided or leather.

Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you at the show.

Hello Cast and Crew and Orchestra,

Every show week we do a “Teaser” snippet of a scene in Chapel.
It is hugely helpful at getting “butts in seats” for the shows.

Today we’ll be doing ACT I, Scene 2: The first UGC Scene where Hope meets Dad and “Mr. Cladwell” is sung.

PLEASE NOTE:
The following Actors need to ask to be let out of C Period 10 minutes early, to get into costume, if at all possible: (I’m emailing the teachers):
TRAVIS JOHNSON
VERONIQUE FILLOUX
LUKAS SARNOW
REED CORNISH
KRYSTEN PFAU
ANNA GILLIS

UGC STAFF: Go through the dance moves in your head. Please sit somewhat close to the stage in Chapel. You’ll work in your Street Clothes but I need to get you to the stage fast when the time comes.

TECH CREW: I need the stage set-up for UGC OFFICES. LIGHTS and SOUND I need floor Mics live and the Light Cue ready to go.

ORCHESTRA: Because 1/3 of you won’t be there (our adults) you can relax. We’ll be singing Acapella.

This will be a great intro to some of the characters without “spoilering” some of the shows moments.

Act and Sing with gusto!

Thanks,
Mr. Sugden

Hello Cast, Crew and Parents,

CAST and CREW:
Thanks for amazing work and progress on Saturday.
There was tremendous growth in everyone’s performances.
Poor and UGC ensemble you’ve never before been so alive, engaged and reacting and it completely makes the show. Bravo.
It is inspiring to see all of the Cast work so hard with such electric results.

PARENTS and CAST:
I’d like to make a slight adjustment to the end time for the rehearsals this week.
–I’d like us to end at 9:30, as opposed to 9:00.
–The reason for this is it will ensure we get a full run under our belts each night this week AND allow people to change out of costume.
–Parents will not be angry and waiting in cars because we’re done rehearsing but people are changing into street clothes.
–I feel this isn’t an extreme time as, before I came to Priory I’ve been told Tech’s sometimes went to 11:00 pm.

TONIGHT: Please go through your script and go over all your lines and lyrics one more time.

Be sure what you’ve memorized is word-for-word accurate and you know WHY you’re saying/singing what you are, HOW it affects you (songs are a journey, you’re usually affected or changed by the end) and WHAT reactions you might have to what others say in every scene.

Get sleep and tomorrow we Rock It! Viva La Urinetown!

Orchestra students

Greeting Urinetown orchestra parents,

In case you didn’t know, I am the Theater volunteer that helps coordinates volunteer and parent communications. Your students will need to be back at school at 5 p.m. and will stay until 9 p.m. Since several of the students live quite a distance from Priory, Alison Krausz has offered that the Orchestra students can walk home with Ben (right around the corner) and have pizza at her house. They can get a little study time in, and then return to school. This holds true for Monday through Friday night’s performance. Please let Alison know if your student will take her up on this kind offer. The students are also welcomed to walk to the deli to purchase dinner and return to the theater and do homework. Please let me know if you have questions. Again, thank you Alison!

Ticket information and production information can be found at http://woodsidepriory.com/theaterblog/
