CONCENTRATION WORK
Students will make the artwork that will comprise the pieces of their concentration.
Students will finish the artwork for their Concentration and Quality sections of the portfolio
Students will write their artist statements for the portfolio
Students will document their art through slides
Students will assemble and mail all three sections of their finished portfolios in early May, breadth, quality and concentration
Students will present their artwork at the AP art show
Students will verbally present their slides of their artwork at the AP art show
Students will clean up the art show and art room and all relevant work spaces.

Development of ideas and technical skills to manage this task, each portfolio will be unique and different.

Outcomes

Students will finish all concentration pieces by deadline given

Students will write a rough draft of the concentration statement
Students will complete all portfolio requirements to pass the class
Students will assemble portfolio by deadline as determined by AP college boards
Students will make slide labels and assemble portfolio
Students will participate in AP Art Show after the portfolio is completed and mailed in
Students will do a verbal presentation of their artwork at the art show, talking about the slides of their art, including breadth, quality and concentration
Students will help set up and take down the art show
Students will leave a set of slides for the Woodside Priory Art Department archive
Students will clean their work space and other areas of classroom as needed
Students will celebrate their enormous accomplishment

CONCENTRATION WORK 6-8 Concentration pieces due this quarter
Students will develop their ideas for their Concentration.
This is a large task of building a body of artwork over the semester which is related with a strong idea, formally or conceptually.
Students will propose three thumbnail sketches of twelve related works each.
Students will make the artwork that will comprise the pieces of their concentration.

-Depending on portfolio student is working on, student continues developing artwork in the area needed and assignments depend on the nature of the students talent/skill/experience in previous courses. Much consultation with teacher to make sure the work is professional.
-Drawing-Still life and work from looking, figure drawing, painting, drawing, etching, use of material, focus on form and composition, formal and informal.
-2-Dimensional Design-work from life, similar to drawing, more technical, digital and photography and the structure is based on the elements and principles of art and design.
-3-Dimensional Design- work in various materials, techniques and demonstrate strength and range of skills, focus on elements and principles of art and design.
