The month of November is about to begin, and it is during this month that we remember those of our loved ones who have died, especially those who have died within the past year. Tradition here involves keeping a “Book of the Dead” in which are inscribed all the names of people who are to be remembered throughout the month in the Masses and prayers of the monastic community. This book remains on display in the church throughout November. Although we remember our graduates each day in our celebration of Mass there will be a special remembrance for deceased alumni of the Priory on Sunday, November 20 at 9:30 AM in the chapel here on campus.
If you would like us to include any names of deceased loved ones in the Book of the Dead, please click here. If you have submitted any names in the past there is no need to repeat them, as they are permanently inscribed in the book. It is not necessary that they be Catholic; religious affiliation does not matter.
Dear Priory Alumni,
The 15th Annual Priory Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Sharon Heights
Golf and Country Club in Menlo Park. The Classic has always been well attended and an event full of Benedictine hospitality that you do not want to miss.
In previous years the tournament has raised more than $50,000 annually for items such as: tennis courts, new scoreboards, field renovations, financial aid and the robotics program.
We want to make a very special appeal to our Priory alumni by offering a $50 discount for your participation in this year’s Golf Classic. Contact Casey Wynn in the Alumni Office (cwynn@PrioryCA.org) or (650-851-6137) to sign up.
Remember to invite classmates, clients, friends or associates to join your foursome for the tournament.
